Emilie Saitas
Born in 1987 in Brussels, from a Greek father and a Belgian mother, Emilie Saitas has a very distinctive graphic universe. She creates each page by hand using pencils and without computer assistance. Her editorial projects are always based on testimonies and graphic research: the idea being to liberate the word as much as the drawing...
Her first diptych, L'Arbre de mon père (My Father's Tree), published by Editions Cambourakis, is the result of several years of interviews with members of her father's family from the Greek minority living in Egypt at the dawn of the Nasserite revolution.
For her new album, Emilie Saitas invited herself into the homes of strangers to understand and test their way of life. The result: Tout un monde, a comic book about ecological habitats published by Delcourt.
