Paul Cauuet
Very early on, drawing became a true passion for Paul Cauuet, thanks to the encouragement and advice of his family, as well as to his immersion in comics from childhood with Tintin, Asterix, then Blake and Mortimer, Jeremiah, The Incal...
Growing up, he decided to study Applied Arts at the University Toulouse Le Mirail. It was during this period that he met the scriptwriter Guillaume Clavery. Their first comic book project was published in 2003 by Éditions Delcourt: Aster, a series in 4 volumes, mixing adventure, rite of passage, dreamlike landscapes and oriental mythology. In 2010, he collaborated with screenwriter Wilfrid Lupano, whom he had known for some time, for L'Honneur des Tzarom at Éditions Delcourt, a 2 volumes series, a space comedy narrating the unusual and crazy adventures of a family of Gypsies from the future. Unbridled humor, crazy action, fantastic settings and aliens of all kinds put together a real show for the reader. The unlikely fusion between the universe of Georges Lucas and the atmosphere of Emir Kusturica's films, if you could imagine that!
In 2014, Paul Cauuet and Wilfrid Lupano worked on a new series, Les Vieux Fourneaux published by Éditions Dargaud. It is a social comedy mixed with class struggle and generation clash, in which three septuagenarians, childhood friends, determined to take advantage of the little time they still have left in this world. It is a story that combines humor, tenderness, nostalgia, social issues (work, ecology, politics, ...) and a certain vision of the current world.
